her nutrition and chef certificates at Bauman College (www.BaumanCollege.org),
a Holistic and Culinary Arts School in
Berkeley
. She joined the staff as a Culinary Assistant at the college and
for its bi-annual Vitality Fasting Retreats. This school is one of
10 colleges recognized by the National Association of Nutrition
Professionals (www.NANP.org)
as an accredited school for holistic nutrition. Joni is on the
NANP's Publications Committee and designs its bi-annual trade
Journal and conference syllabus. She also is on the Executive
Committee for the NANP branch in
Berkeley
and is the Membership Coordinator.
Joni is an
active member of the Orthomolecular Health Medicine Society,
San Francisco
(www.ohmsociety.com);
the Westin A. Price Foundation,
Berkeley
(www.westonaprice.org);
and the Community Supported Agriculture group, Walnut Creek. Joni
completed the
Berkeley
Psychic Institute's Associate Minister course in clairvoyant
readings and energetic healings in 1991 (www.BerkeleyPsychic.org).
Joni is a
News Artist for the Contra Costa Times newspaper (17 years), in
Walnut Creek
(www.ContraCostaTimes.com).
She has received regional awards for her work and does freelance
graphic design. She designed the Times' Weather Page and is the
"Weather Page Editor." She is the President/Advisory Chairman for
the credit union branch at the Times, representing 700 members (www.DiabloValleyFCU.org).

yoga, meditation, rollerblading, hiking, camping, backpacking,
bicycling, skiing, snowshoeing, piano, singing, swimming, traveling
